About the performance: it is great! I can't believe such great sound can be obtained from such a simple circuit, it's almost funny! compared to my other tube amp, a push-pull design with EL84 there seems to be but (even) more presence, at least on some types of music like jazz. I listened to Miles Davis' Kind of blues and it seemed that the instruments were right in the room sometimes. Is there a break-in time, because the sound seemed to open as time passed. thanks again, I might buy the speaker kit from you sometime in the future (not now my wife will kill me if I do), and let me know when you'll be in Atlanta so maybe we can meet . "I just wanted to say that I recently had the pleasure of listening to DCC Audio's 6 watt stereo amplfier. What a sound! The tones, and 'natural' openness are the closest to a live performance (especially acoustic instrument performance) that I've ever heard. Your amp possesses all the dynamic range that any recording could throw at it. Thank you for offerring a great amp, and at an affordable price." Best regards, K.

I was looking for a small single ended tube amp, that was easy on energy consumption, for a log home that my wife and I built in Northern MN. The amp was to be paired with Omega TS-1 Speakers and my Sony SCD-777ES sacd player.
I had pretty much settled on an integrated amp of Japanese lineage when I stumbled on Ron's web site. I gave him a call and decided to buy his 6TX amp because, he sounded like a heck of a good guy on the phone and he was willing to spend time answering all of my questions.
My speakers arrived two weeks after the amp and were burned in for 75 cont. hrs. - much to the chagrin of my wife.
Well, the moment of truth finally arrived and I gathered some of my favorite recordings: John Cash - American 3; Pink Floyd - Meddle and DSOTM sacd. Sinatra - Live at the Sands; John Prine - Lost Dogs and Mixed Blessings. Peggy Lee - Blues Cross Country.
First off: The amp is dead quiet. There's no background noise, just beautiful blackness. John Cash's voice portrayed all his wisdom and emotion. His acoustic guitar work was full bodied and three dimensional. Sinatra's voice had real verve and the sounds of the dinner crowd were amazing. Peggy Lee's voice was as sultry as it can get! And Pink Floyd's "Echoes" was absolutely majestic.
So yes, I love this amp and now I'm a single ended/ High Eff. speaker convert. I like this amp so much I've already talked to Ron about buying another one. I'll retire my big tube monoblocks and Planar speakers and put his amp in our home near the Twin Cities. Yep, I got bitten by the single ended bug and it's a good bug!

have been living with the new preamp which was prebuilt by you for a month now, and have the following comments to make which I hope will be a guide for others if you post this. Before I received the unit, I was not prepared for much quality and took a chance on it because of other reviews. What led me to this pre-underexpectation? well for one the price, and secondly the chassis in the picture looked small and unassuming. Also one input and one output. WOW was I ever wrong! This little unit, blew the doors off my Grounded Grid. While maintaining the sensitivity of the GG, it added an immediacy to my mids and real authority to my Bass. The GG was polite, with the Bass and the mids in the background and very nice details and of course its renown wide stage. This Preamp puts the musicians in the room with you. I listened to the latest from Diane Krall and my mouth hung open! I remember on the opening song I stopped it and played it again. Now granted I have speakers and an amp that have power handling to spare. I ran this through my Bedini 803 AMP which is pure class A 250 watts, and into a pair of Shahinian Diapasans with Double Eagle Subwoofers. They have never sounded better! Trust me I have tried many preamps including some of the best transistor preamps including a very limited edition battery operated Bedini preamp. Lately I have been running my phono through the Bedini and line stage through this preamp. I have also experimented in the weeks since I first got it with different tube configurations which this preamp lets you do, using ATs, AXs and AUs. I personally prefer the sound of four AUs. some may want a different configuration. Are there better sounding preamps out there Undoubtedly! Ron, when i called you to share your feedback, you candidly told me that better components would improve the sound, but that for your price about half the grounded grid preamp, you were limited . Now what can be better with this preamp? better tubing which I have done. A second line in with a selector switch. and a second line out for biamping. Can the tube kit builder do it themselves? absolutely. for another $200.00 you can do all of the above and have a much better volume pod and better sound. For now Ron. thank you for your contributions, thank you for the time you took to answer a lot of my questions, but most of all thank you for the great sound!! I have ordered an integrated 6 watt amp for the bedroom and can't wait to listen to that... please feel free to use this email and I look forward to new products from DCC audio. Tony Brea Miami, Fl
